WASHINGTON STREET BUS STOP RENOVATION

Project Description: This project included development of conceptual improvements to renovate the bus stop and bike rack areas along Washington Street, enhance pedestrian accessibility to Schaeffer Hall with ADA compliant ramp near the SE corner of building to connect with the main pedestrian street crossing from the Old Capital Mall, lighting improvements and potential sidewalk widening and replacement of the metal pipe rail fence along Clinton Street from Washington Street to Jefferson Street. The final report identified improvement scope items and budget for future improvements. The study also identified preferred street furniture and bus shelter units. Stakeholder meetings were held with the University, City, and all three transit agencies involved.

Construction: Scheduled for 2011
