Jon Bogert to Present at APWA Iowa Chapter Fall Conference

APWA Header featuring the Cottage Grove Flood Protection Project

Jon Bogert will present the Cottage Grove Parkway Flood Risk Reduction Project as a case study to the 2015 APWA Iowa Chapter Fall Conference this Thursday at 4:30 p.m.

Over the past fifteen years the Cottage Grove/Sun Valley neighborhood has suffered from multiple flood events along Indian Creek. When the City of Cedar Rapids began investigating possible solutions, the neighborhood presented strongly held, and wildly divergent, opinions about what should be done. Come and learn what the City has done, and is doing, to respond to the wide-spread stakeholder input in this multi-phase project.

Mr. Bogert’s thirty-minute presentation will explore the various engineering solutions and public involvement techniques used by Anderson Bogert to respond to this complex issue. He will discuss the history of the Cottage Grove / Sun Valley neighborhood’s flooding concerns and provide insight on the current state of the flood risk reduction project.
